SAPD closes I-10 on the Eastside due to report of ‘shooting’

The San Antonio Police Department has closed down a portion of I-10 on the Eastside of San Antonio on Wednesday, August 30, as it responds to an active scene in the area. Police have closed the east and westbound lanes of I-10 and S. New Braunfels Avenue for “several hours” as it responds to an “officer involved shooting,” officials say.¬†

It’s not clear how the officer was involved in the shooting but the official is in stable condition, according Officer Ricardo Guzman.¬†MySA has reached out to SAPD for more information. Officials are also telling people to avoid west and eastbound lanes of Highway 90 heading toward I-10 from I-35 as they investigate the scene. Commuters should expect delays in and around the area until further notice.
