SAPD closes I-10 on the Eastside due to report of ‘shooting’

The San Antonio Police Department has closed down a portion of I-10 on the Eastside of San Antonio on Wednesday, August 30, as it responds to an active scene in the area. Police have closed the east and westbound lanes of I-10 and S. New Braunfels Avenue for “several hours” as it responds to an “officer involved shooting,” officials say. 

It’s not clear how the officer was involved in the shooting but the official is in stable condition, according Officer Ricardo Guzman. MySA has reached out to SAPD for more information. Officials are also telling people to avoid west and eastbound lanes of Highway 90 heading toward I-10 from I-35 as they investigate the scene. Commuters should expect delays in and around the area until further notice.
