Women’s Self Defense Class Offered In Southington

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The town’s police department is accepting applicants for a self-defense class for women that it is teaching starting next week.

The Southington Police Department is hosting the class at the Calendar House, 388 Pleasant St., starting on Tuesday, Sept. 5, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Subsequent classes in the four-week program will take place Tuesdays on Sept. 12, 19 and 26.

Police said participants must attend all four session of the class if they can and they reccomend that they wear athletic clothing.

Space is limited to 20, with registration accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
